Two large(2cm x 2cm arms) brown St. James crosses in mica with
almandine garnet. Picuris Mining Dist., Taos County, NM Not a rare mineral but some of the best specimens have come from several locations in the district. Often with almandine and rarely with spessartine garnets. Crystals are black, brown, and red brown. Taos has beautiful masses of staurolite in mica and all the twinning possibilities in individual specimens have been found here as well.
